Rebecca Dawn Foster

Rebecca Foster, age 55, was born on September 30, 1968 to Wesley and Faye Neil and passed away on April 24, 2024 in Crossville, TN.

She is survived by her husband Allen Foster; children Brooke (Trevor) Wright and Shade (Haley) Foster; beloved granddaughter Asa Korrine Wright; parents Wesley and Faye (Brown) Neil; sister Sharon (Tommy) Reagan; mother-in-law Edna Foster; brother & sisters-in-law Michelle Foster and Will (Kristy) Foster; nieces & nephews Justin Farr, Neil Reagan, Elizabeth Reagan, Ethan (Kennedy) Foster, Kendall Foster, and Daria Foster; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, church family, and friends.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her father-in-law Dick Foster and her dear friend Gail Wojcik.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Oak Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 12-4pm, with the service to follow at 4pm, Pastor Jim Mersereau officiating. She will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery immediately following the service.

Roger Dean Burgess

Roger Dean Burgess, age 80, was born on April 13, 1944 to Allen and Lillie Mae King Burgess in Crossville, TN and passed away on April 24, 2024 in Crossville, TN. He owned his own small engine shop and also was a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding horses and loved to listen to bluegrass music and dance.

He is survived by his wife- Pam Burgess, sisters- Mamie Cole, Frances Irwin (Randy), Darlene Bell (Dave), and Treva McKinney (Joey); brothers- Doyle Burgess (Marla), Willis Burgess (Debbie), Aster Burgess (Fannie); children- Pam Guthrie (Scott), Eugene Burgess (Daphne), Larry Burgess (Jessica), Kim Johnson (Alan) and Donna Mifflin; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters- Gladys Williams, Marie Wyatt, Joyce Croft, and Diane Walker; brothers- Roy Burl, Marvin Burgess and Delmer Burgess; and grandson- Isaac Mifflin.

The family will receive friends at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 5-8pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2pm. He will be laid to rest in Allen Burgess Cemetery immediately following the service.

Betty Sue Moody

Betty Moody, age 77, was born on November 18, 1946 to James and Lois Isham and passed away on April 21, 2024 in Crossville, TN.

Betty enjoyed playing softball when she was younger. She had an amazing green thumb when it came to flowers. She always put others before herself and she truly loved helping others. Betty loved animals and enjoyed playing Solitaire in her spare time, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Donald Moody; children Shawn (Ashley) Moody and Donnie (Stacy) Moody; grandchildren Bailey, Kendall, Cassi, Sarah, Skylar, Tristan, Cynthia, and Addison; siblings Tom Isham, Mabel Potter, and John Isham; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents James and Lois (Nail) Isham.

Services will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-3pm with the service to follow at 3pm, Rev. Danny Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest in Big Lick Cemetery immediately following the service.

Ronnie Clyde Lewis

Ronnie Clyde Lewis, age 79, was born on December 6, 1944 to Everett Findley and Dora Jane McCormick in Crossville, TN and passed away in Crossville on April 10, 2024. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and also in Vietnam as a Combat Engineer. He would play music “to bring a little bit of home to the soldiers”. His passions were God, family, and music. Ronnie loved singing and playing music. He has written songs, copyrighted and recorded, and is in the Webb Pierce Hall of Fame. He served his community as a deputy for 5 years.

He is survived by his wife- Virginia Gail Lewis, daughters- Rhonda Derrick (Billy) and Sheila Templeton (Allan); grandchildren- Brittany Derrick (Brandon), Cody Derrick (Tabitha), John McCuistion Jr. (Stefanie), and Brandi Norris (Thomas); 17 great grandchildren, siblings- Shirley Maynard, Sandra Looper, and Jerry Copeland (Aileen); and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister- Virgie Brown; and brothers-Jerome and Robert “Butch” Lewis and Paul Campbell.

The family will receive friends at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 1 to 3 with a funeral service to follow. Junior Pugh will officiate and burial will be in Crossville City Cemetery.

Jenny Renee Wood

Jenny Renee Wood, age 50, was born on February 19, 1974 to Jimmy Ray and Marie Ann Heiskell Pleasant in Crossville, TN and passed away in her home in Crossville, TN on April 3, 2024. She loved living life and music and fashion was her passion! She is survived by her father- Jimmy Pleasant, husband- Stuart Wood, son- Tyler Kerley (Ashley), and sister- Trina Pleasant. She is preceded in death by her mother- Marie Ann Warner.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Crossville First Freewill Baptist Church from 12 to 2 with service to follow. Avery Brown will officiate with burial in Thomas Springs Cemetery.

Troy Rector

Troy Rector, age 93, was born in Sparta, TN to Marion Francis and Effie Lewis Rector on July 8, 1930 and passed away in his home in Crossville, TN on April 5, 2024. He is survived by his wife- Cleasie M. Rector; sons- Dennie Rector (Teresa), Danny Rector (Mary), Donnie and Darrell Rector; grandchildren- Kayla,Troy, Austin, Rebecca and Emily; several great grandchildren and a sister- Geneva Sorrell. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons- Doyle and Delbert Rector; grandsons- Dustin and Michael; and siblings- Alva and Thurman Rector, Ruby Jordan and Richard Lewis.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 11 to 1 with a service to follow. Bro. Howard Burnette will officiate and burial will be in Browntown Cemetery

Teresa Ann Troglin

Teresa Troglin, age 64, was born on August 14, 1959 to Claude and Myrtle Jo (Brewer) Nichols in Crossville, TN and passed away on April 1, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family. She was a dedicated mother that loved being around her family most of all.

She is survived by her husband Charles Troglin; children David (Jennifer) Troglin and Jessica (James) Williamson; grandchildren Christy, Mackenzie, Jacob, Kiyla, Kelsey, Hunter, and Tucker; great grandchildren Delilah and Bennett; and siblings Donna VanWinkle, Kathy Wilson, Joyce Bolin, and Norman Nichols.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12-2pm, with the service to follow at 2pm, Adam Hargis officiating. She will be laid to rest in Seals Cemetery immediately following the service.

Joyce Diane Shencavitz

September 22, 1946 – March 30, 2024

Joyce was a kind and caring soul who often went out of her way to help her friends and family. She loved to cook and bake then shower those around her with meals and tasty treats.  She had a hard time cooking for one, but could whip up a feast for an army in a heartbeat.

Joyce loved being around her friends and family.  Family trips, holidays or just sharing a meal out with friends. She had a way of making everyone smile with her quick wit and fun shenanigans wherever she went.

Joyce is survived by her children,  Dawn Mavromatidis (Harry), Robert Shencavitz (Lori),and Tracy Shencavitz.  Her two sisters Sharon Massaro (Ray) and Linda Warrenski (John). Her grandchildren Katlyn Ali (Brandon), Marina Mavromatidis,  Chelsea Shencavitz,  Philip Gabriel Mavromatidis,  Jeremy Mavromatidis,  Jacob Mavromatidis,  Ally Shencavitz,  and  Cheyenne Shencavitz.  Her four great grandsons, and many nieces, nephews.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Philip Shencavitz,  her father William Abrams and her mother Gertrude Merry Abrams.

Charles Lawrence Miller

Charles Miller, age 76, was born on May 30, 1947 to Wilburn and Bertie Miller in Crossville, TN and passed away on March 22, 2024 in Crossville.

Charles served in the U.S. Army ranking as Sergeant in the Vietnam War gaining the name “Machine Gun Charlie”. He was awarded 5 Bronze Medals and a Purple Heart Award during his military service. He worked most of his life as the General Manager for Loram Maintenance of Way Railroad Co., and then on to S&W Electrical Contracting Co., retiring as an Electrician.

He is survived by his daughters Sandra Cooper and Lisa Potter; grandchildren Chad Cooper, Cameren Yates, and Jacob & Tyler Potter; 3 great grandchildren; brothers Johnny Paul (Kim) Miller and Wilburn Rousseau (Peggy) Miller Jr; sisters Della Jean Miller Welch, Edith June Miller (Bobby) Escue, Ethel Miller, and Nellie Escue Miller; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends Rick Bolin, Lowell Ray Harris, Dan Barnett, Carrie, Samantha, & Panza Smith, Riley & Raeann Robinson, Mitchell Playle, and Robin Griffin.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Wilburn Rousseau Miller, Sr. & Bertie (Diden) Miller; his wife of 31 years Bernice McCoy Sims Miller; grandson Justin Keith Cooper; brothers C.L. Lynn Miller, J.V. Glenn Miller, Ray Lewis Miller, Roy Lynard Miller, and Sammy Welch; sister Katy Jane Miller King; and special friends Jennings Bolin and Terry Smith.

The Graveside Service will be held on April 6, 2024 in Chestnut Hill Community Cemetery at 1:00pm, Pastor Mike Reagan Officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Riley & Raeann Robinson and Mitchell Playle. Charles will be remembered by the Chestnut Hill Community and friends for his great generosity, loyalty, and independence.

Wilma Jean Selby

Wilma Selby, age 84, was born on April 19, 1939 to James and Laura Seagraves in Pleasant Hill, TN and passed away on March 26, 2024 in Crossville, TN.

She is survived by her brother Dennis (Diane) Seagraves and a host of nieces and nephews.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents James Dallas and Laura Mae (Page) Seagraves; husbands O’Dell Hayes and Charles Selby; and siblings Herschel Seagraves, Marshall Seagraves, Arnold Seagraves, Geneva Brady, Ruth Coffelt, and Lula Rice.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12-2pm, with the service to follow at 2pm, Bro. Bubba Ashburn officiating. She will be laid to rest in Smiths Chapel Cemetery.
