Richard John Werderitch

Richard John Werderitch was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 16, 1928

to John and Elizabeth Werderitch.Richard graduated from Southwestern High School in Detroit, Michigan and was a member of the Honor Society. He finished 2 years at Lawrence Technical University.

He entered Military Service in 1951, serving until February 1953, during the
Korean War conflict. He was stationed at Fort Bragg as a Photo Interpreter with the 304 Military Unit and attended Army Ground School at Fort Riley, Kansas.

Richard started his banking career in 1954 after departing the service.
He was a Senior Purchasing Agent at Manufacturers/Comerica Bank in Detroit
and retired after more than 34 years of work.

He married his love of his life, Ruth Landau, in September 1957 and started a family.

He is a father to Paul Werderitch (Dona) of Indianapolis, Indiana and
Nancy Werderitch Mincovsky (Jonathan) of Detroit, Michigan.
He is a proud grandfather to Daniel Werderitch and Ethan Mincovsky.Richard was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of American for 20 years,
the Junior Achievement for 10 years and the Optimist Club of Michigan.
He volunteered at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Detroit and was a greeter at Fairfield Glade

United Methodist Church, served as President of the Korean War Veteran Association in Fairfield Glade for 2 years and was a life member.When Ruth retired, they moved down to Fairfield Glade in
May of 2002 to enjoy golf and being able to travel as they wished.
They shared their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2007 with family and friends
here at Fairfield Glade.

Richard’s sense of humor, his wit for stories and his love of family will be
greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers. A donation to the local Korean War Veterans association Plateau group #297. I think that is their chapter number, the American Red Cross or the American heart association in my dads name would greatly be appreciated.
