James Mike Hassler, age 56, was born on January 31, 1959 to Virgil and Ruthie Hassler in Elyria, Ohio and passed away in Knoxville, TN on February 1, 2015. He was a correctional officer at Bledsoe County Correctional Complex. He loved to study astronomy, go fishing, and traveling.

Mike is survived by his brother- Ricky Steve Hassler (Barbara); sister- Sandra Hassler Brewer; niece- Rebecca Hassler; nephew- Jeremy Hassler (Kristi) and their children- Makenna and Ainsley.

He was preceded in death by his parents- Virgil Hassler and Ruthie Belle Sullivan Hassler; and nephew- John C Brewer.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2015,  from 3 to 7 with funeral service to follow. Bro. Jim Waldron will officiate the service along with Bro. Barry Kennedy and Bro. Jon Tatum. Burial will be in Linary Cemetery with a graveside service on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waldron Mission Fund at Crossville Church of Christ.
