Rev. Robert Ray Whittaker, a minister for over 34 years , 74 of Monterey, Tennessee died on Friday, May 15, 2015, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, Tennessee.

Born Sunday, November 10, 1940 in Monterey, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Robert Whittaker and the late Dovie Padgett  Whittaker. He was the husband of 51 years to Willene Whittaker of Cumberland Cove Community.

Surviving are sons, William Whittaker (Denice) of Sparta and Robert Joseph Whittaker of Cumberland Cove Community, daughters, Rose Key (Randall) of Cumberland Cove Community and Tresia Moon Spencer (James) of Mayland Community, brothers, Raymond Whittaker (Judy) of Monterey, Harvey Whittaker (Dessie) of Monterey, Gary Whittaker (Kathy) of Grandview and Leroy Rex Whittaker (Cheryl) of Monterey, sister, Marla Forrest Gentry (Tom) of Brentwood and June Phillips of Monterey; 5 grand children- Seth Moon of Louisville, KY,, Ethan Moon and Jody Moon of Byrdstown, Payton Moon and Mykayla Moon of Byrdstown.
He was preceded in death by his brothers- Jefferson, Donald, and Thomas Whittaker; and sisters- Irene Rex, Nellie Manis, and Sara Jane Holt.

A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with the Richard Farley  and Robbie Miller officiating. Interment will be in Mayland Cemetery, Mayland, TN.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, May 18, 2015, at  Crossville Memorial Funeral Home.
