Marjorie Elaine (Rice) Murphy will not be able to vote in the 2016 Presidential Election due to a divine appointment to join her husband, Charles (Chuck) Marlowe Murphy who died in 1996. Marge requested that each and every one of you vote for the person who believes in Christian values and is interested in uniting this country again.
Marjorie (Marge) was born in January 12, 1924 to Margaret E. (Hannapel) Rice and Edward Rice. She married Chuck on January 13, 1945. Marjorie’s legacy continues through her three children, eldest and only son Daniel C. Murphy, followed by eldest daughter, Sharon (Murphy) Teepen, and youngest daughter, Maureen E. Murphy. There are also four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Marge earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1970 followed by a Master’s Degree in Special Education. She was a Special Education teacher and retired from the Farmington School District in Michigan.
Marge and Chuck officially retired and settled in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee in October 1985. Marge joined Jesus and Chuck on October 9, 2015.
When Marge turned 50 she told Chuck she was not going to sit around and listen to her arteries harden; she was going to take up cross country skiing. Chuck chose to join her on that and many other adventures.
When they settled in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, they were active in their community and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Chuck was already an accomplished golfer, and Marge decided to follow him on the links. She wasn’t very good, but she thoroughly enjoyed it.
Her last request was to be sure to ask each of you to VOTE, which is one of the greatest freedoms this side of heaven.
A celebration of Marjorie’s new life with Christ will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Peavine Road in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. No flowers please. If you wish to do something, please make a donation to the American Diabetes Foundation or Wounded Warriors Project in the name of Marjorie Murphy.
