Nora Marie Fleming

Nora FlemingGraveside services for Nora Marie Fleming, 96, of Crossville, who passed away October 28, 2015 at home, were held Friday, October 30, 2015 at Green Acres Memory Gardens. Chaplain Chuck Overton with Caris hospice conducted the services.

Mrs. Fleming was born October 2, 1919, in Port Clinton, Ohio, the daughter of Martin and Ada Iler Vossom. Nora was raised in Windsor Ontario, Canada. She was a loving wife and mother, a self-taught watercolorist, pianist, and a devout Christian, and a member of United Methodist Churches in Cumberland County. With a giving nature, her artistic talents of watercolors, quilts, and crochet works reside with family and friends.

Nora was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles Layman Fleming of Crossville, her parents, and six brothers and sisters of Canada (Joe, Jim, John, Bob, Blanche, and LaVina). Her cat, KiKi, kept her company for 19 years after her husband’s death.

Survivors include two daughters, Ada Whittaker and Roxie Ann Fleming, both of Crossville, one granddaughter, Christina Maria Whittaker, Crossville; two great grandchildren, Audra DeVito (Dom), Alaska, and Sgt. Edward Frady (Silvia), Germany; four great-great grandchlidren, D.J. and Anna Marie DeVito and Carrington and Chloe Frady, and several nieces and nephews

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made in her name to Caris Healthcare (hospice) located at 60 Ridley St. Suite 127, Crossville, TN 38555 and/or gives of charity to those in need of shelter.
