David Henry Smith

David Henry Smith of Crossville, passed away on March 19, 2016. He was born on August 29, 1946 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late William Henry Smith and Myrtle Irene (Smith) Mueter. Mr. Smith attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Mission. He was a welder machinist for ten years in Angola, NY as well as a manager at a truck stop in Tonopah, Az. He enjoyed fishing with his friends, crocheting blankets, doing handy work around the house as well as helping others with their projects. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his two sisters Lucille Smith and Sandra Reagle, also a grandson, Christian Smith of Buckeye, AZ and a great-grandson Mykel Richard of Crossville, Tn. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jane (Richmond)Smith; seven children, Davalyne (Kevin)Paden of Niles, Ohio, David Jr. of Niles, Ohio, Coralena (Mark)Parcel of California, Walter (Bachara)Smith of Tonopah, Arizona, Tamara (James)Gilliam of Crossville, TN, Jeremiah (Sabrina)Smith of Hamburg, NY, and Loretta Shank of Crossville, Tn. Also surviving is his brother William (Linda)Smith of Silver Creek, NY as well as 27 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

David also attended Lantana Road Baptist Church of Crossville for eight years before being part of a core team to plant a new mission church in Pleasant Hill. David loved the Lord and was a part of many areas in church: Children’s Church teacher, Usher/Greeter, Van Ministry Director, Custodial work, and landscaping. David was always ready to lend a helping hand. Burial Service will be at the Old Town Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, TN. on Saturday March 26th at 11:30am. Celebration of Life Service will be held at Lantana Road Baptist Church on Saturday March 26th at 1pm.
