Donald G. Sutherland was announced in heaven into the Church Triumphant Sept. 6, 2017. A memorial service will be held at the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church at 4 PM Sept. 16, 2017. Donald was born on Jan. 30, 1926, in Hamilton ON, Canada. He was the son of James and Jean Sutherland. Donald was united in marriage to Melva Jane Sutherland, on June 2, 1951. Donald resided in Fairfield Glade for the past 31 years. Donald is preceded by his sisters and brothers Gordon, James, Jean and Heather. Donald loved volunteering at Crab Orchard Elementary school, working with the Crossville Kiwanis Club, delivering food for the Peavine Care Center, serving food with his Sunday school class at the Bread of Life Mission, and teaching Disciple classes at his church. Donald enjoyed serving others and the lord in every part of his life. Donald was a sergeant in the Royal Canadian Air Force serving in England in WWII from 1943-1945, where he was honorably released in 1945. Donald then worked for CoAmerica Bank for 30 years and retired as the Vice President of the consumer loans department. Family celebrating his life include his sons; Kevin and wife Jennifer, Dirk and wife Susan, Scot and wife Tamara, and his daughter, Heather; his grandchildren Michael and wife Megan, Ashlee and husband Matt, Emilee and husband Eddie, Kenyon, Dirk and fiancé Emily, Lucas, Chase and wife Marissa, Beck and their mother Katie Haas, Colin, Brendon, Dillon, Scot, Colin, Megan, and Shane. Great-grandchildren, Skylar, Lilly, Mollee, Charlie, Chevi, Logan, Madilynn, James, Kevin, Katelynn, and Kassidy.
