Alena Pearl Tabor

Alena Pearl Tabor, age 94, was born on January 3, 1925 to Oscar and Onie Wyatt McCampbell in Crossville, TN and passed away on March 15, 2019 in Crossville, TN.

She is survived by her daughters- Ellouise Hensley (Cordell) and Anglia Jones (Terry); son- Jeffrey Tabor; grandchildren- Brigid, Vaneisa, Michelle, Chenioa, and Jason; eight great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and sister- Lorene Kindrick.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband- Harold Tabor; son- Larry Tabor; grandson- Barry Tabor; daughter-in-law- Barbara Tabor; and four siblings.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 12 to 2 with service to follow at 2:00 with Milton Ker officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Nann Mae Million

Nann Mae Million, age 97, was born on May 15, 1921 in Walling, TN to the late Ray and Stella Morgan Horton. She passed away on March 12, 2019 in Crossville, TN.

She is survived by her son, Bill Crabb (Marilyn); grandchildren, Greg (Melissa) and Erica; great grandchildren, Katie, Chloe, and Phoebe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace Million; and siblings, Buster Horton, Otta Lee Horton, Doris Collins, Dorothy McClure, Betty Shockley, and Bob Horton.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will also be held on Saturday following visitation with Roland Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens 1700 S. Ocoee St. Cleveland, TN 37311 at 4 p.m. EST.

Martha Ellen Guy

Martha Ellen Guy, age 93, was born in Whitley County, KY to Joseph and Lillie York Powers on November 18, 1925 and passed away in her home in Crossville, TN on March 10, 2019. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and flowers, but was happiest with her large family around her.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by children- Charles Powers (Helene), Gary Guy (Annette), Ricky Guy (Nancy), Leighanne Davis, Glenda Elmore (Jack), and Linda Guy; grandchildren- Michelle, Denise, Charlie, Jennifer, Kevin, Zachary, Charlie, Lauren, Sarah, Michael, Joshua, Jonathan, Valerie, Angela, Katrina and Kristie; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband- Thomas Guy, daughter- Wilma Harris, great grandchild- Jeremy Whitcomb, and siblings- Lloyd, Cecil, Clyde, Walter, Edwin, Mary, Alice, and Avis.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8, and the service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 with Pastor Gary Hargis officiating. The burial will be in Lantana Cemetery.

BJ (Brenda) Ellen Turner Richards Allen-Masters

BJ (Brenda) Ellen Turner Richards Allen-Masters, age 64, was born on April 6, 1954 in Crossville, TN to Lloyd and Ellen (Norris) Turner and adoptive father, Judge Glen Allen. She passed away on March 6, 2019. Brenda attended Indiana Business College. She worked as an assistant manager at the Villa Del Rey Retirement Community. She was the Health and Safety Director and CPR/First Aid Instructor for the American Red Cross for the Merced – Mariposa counties in Merced, California.

She is survived by her son, Jason Richards; granddaughter, Cassidy Richards; sisters, Barbara Daffinee (Wade) and Teresa Stafford (John); brothers, Ronald Turner (Delores), Tracy Turner, and Travis Turner; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and special friend, Amie Marchini Billings.

She is preceded in death by her parents; adoptive father, Judge Glen Allen; grandparents, Ell and Leda (Kilby) Norris and Paul and Lola Evelyn (Wells) Turner; sister, Catha (Turner) Cross; and niece Tabitha Turner.

Family will receive friends on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 11:00 to 1:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service will also be held on Monday following visitation with Pastor Carlton Varnell officiating. She will be laid to rest in Turner Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers are, Gary Turner, Shane Turner, Nathaniel Daffinee, Justin Turner, Zachary Insco, Caleb Stafford, Brayden Blankenship, Phillip Blankenship, and Derrik Turner.

Charles Edward Sherrill

Charles Edward Sherrill, 82, died Saturday March 2, 2019 at his home in Winter Haven, FL after a battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Charles was born on June 14, 1936 in Crab Orchard, TN to Gaither and Nanny Sherrill. He lived and worked in the area before moving to central Florida. From his work at his roadside produce stand that filled his days for many years he became known as “the Watermelon man”.

He is from a large family of 5 brothers and 8 sisters.

Charles has 11 children: Tina Hennager (Ronnie), Mary Waldorff (Greg), Nova ”Nancy” Light (Rex), Charlene Kirkland (Dennis), John Sherrill, Charles “Chuck” Sherrill Jr (Rema), Margaret Smith (Mike), Elizabeth Sherrill, Leroy Sherrill (deceased), Edward Lee Sherrill, Donnie Sherrill (deceased); 16 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Martha Alderman, Charles’s girlfriend of 8 years, and her son Jimmy Britton have been by his side throughout his final days.

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 11:00 to 12:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home in Crossville, TN. A funeral service will also be held on Friday following visitation with Dudley Evans officiating. Charles will be laid to rest in Bat Town Cemetery.

Jewell Catherine Brown

Jewell Catherine Brown, of Crossville TN, age 81, passed away on February 25, 2019 at home in the presence of family.

Jewell lived her life and she lived it very well. She enjoyed bowling and throughout her life she played on many different leagues. She did not stop there, when she was younger you would find her singing at piano bars and going dancing with her late husband Gene Brown. Together they enjoyed attending the TN Oil & Gas Association Conventions. They enjoyed being active and taking RV trips across the US. Jewell loved her Western/Cowboy shows, especially ones starring Audi Murphy. She had a great love for reading mystery books and even passed those books on to her children.

She is survived by her children, Karen Wheatley (Kevin), Brenda Dillon (Joey), and Vince Brown (Shannon); grandchildren, David Powers, Ginger Pate, Marshall Dillon, Brad Dillon, and Chase Allred; great granddaughter, Carissa Atwood (Brandon); sister-in-law, Jet Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Brown; parents, Chuck and Lucille Potts; sisters, Mary Charles Marsh and Weezie Will; brother-in-law, Russell Brown.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Savannah Brown

Savannah Brown, 91, was born on July 4, 1927 in Crossville, TN to the late John William and Bessie Barnett Hall. She passed away on February 18, 2019. Savannah loved spending time with her family and loved her grandchildren more than anything.

She is survived by her children, Lou Ella Houston, Judy Hall, Linda Chilton (Tom), and Tammy Kemmer (Alan); grandchildren, Daphne, Eric, Freddy, Bart, Chris, Michelle, Joey, Joshua, Justin, Richie, Melissa, Angela, Danny, and Jodie; and 23 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman “Bill” Brown; children, Danny Hall and Carolyn Wiggins; grandson, Donnie Wiggins; and siblings, John Henry Hall, Luther Hall, Jesse Hall, Myrtle Gunter, Pennia Howard Pelfrey, Clarence Hall, Gladys Smith, Lennis Davidson, and Ethel Davidson.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 11:00 to 1:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Savannah will also be held on Thursday following visitation with Pastor Sam Tollett officiating. She will be laid to rest in Taylors Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joey Brown, Justin Kemmer, Joshua Kemmer, Richie Hall, Khristian Hicks, and Chris Price.

Clarence Raymond Norris

Funeral services for Clarence Raymond Norris, 65, of Crossville, TN will be held on Wednesday, February 20th at 1:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 prior to the service. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.

He is survived by children, Brandon Norris (Meagan) and Hannah Stone (Travis); granchildren, Madison, Mason, Chloe, Grayson and Braydon; sister, Myrtal Howard; and brothers, Avery and Clenes Norris.

Elna Faye Kerley Kendrick

Funeral services for Elna Faye Kerley Kendrick, 77, of Crossville, TN will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 2 p.m. with Will Foster officiating. Burial will be in Bakers Chapel Cemetery following the service. Family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

She is survived by her children, Lynn Kerley (Lisa), Tony Kerley, Dale Kerley, and Rhonda Kerley; grandchildren, Stephanie, Kelsey, Karissa, Dustin, Aaron, Billy, and Michael; 13 great grandchildren; and siblings, Roy and Ernest Meadows and Edna Foster.
