Thomas Patrick Dugan

Thomas Patrick Dugan, age 87, was born on October 19, 1935 to Paul and Bertha Agnes Hazel Dugan in Flint, Michigan and passed away to the church triumphant on November 10, 2022 in Fairfield Glade, TN following a heroic battle with cancer.

Tom moved here from Fenton, Michigan 23 years ago to enjoy his retirement in Fairfield Glade. He held various positions at Christ Lutheran Church including singing in the choir with his beautiful baritone voice. He volunteered at Cumberland County Playhouse in acting and ushering. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing tennis, camping, playing cards, and was a musician in Cumberland County enjoying all types of music. He was loved and respected by all who were fortunate enough to have met him.

He is survived by his wife of 40 happy years- Sue Dugan, brother- Burton “Chuck” Kellogg (Sandy), children- Ernie Moulton (Brenda), Tim Moulton and Carrie Moulton; grandchild- Max Moulton, niece- Lauren Gavrin (Taran) and grand nephew- Baker Gavrin.

He is preceded in death by his parents and children- Mike Dugan and Christie Dugan.

There will be a memorial service for him on December 11, 2022 at Christ Lutheran Church in Fairfield Glade at 1:00 pm. Memorial donations can be made in his name to Hospice of Cumberland County or the Christ Lutheran Church Columbarium Project.

Dr. Roberto Balmores Baylosis

Dr. Roberto Baylosis passed away on Wednesday, October 26, at his home in Crossville TN with family by his side. Roberto was born on December 20, 1942 to Emeliano Baylosis and Olympia Baylosis in the Philippines. Taking great pride in caring for others, Roberto obtained his M.D. and worked in the emergency room of the Cumberland Medical Center from 1978 – 2010 and was able to help countless people.

He very much enjoyed food, fishing, and relaxing with family and friends.

Roberto is survived by his wife of 55 years, his two children, his 3 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Dr. Baylosis will be remembered for his passion towards medicine and the countless lives he affected through his 36 years working as an emergency room physician, 32 of which were in the Cumberland Medical Center.

Dr. Roberto Baylosis was a wonderful man and will be truly missed.

Marvin Allen Burgess

May 14,1947  November 4, 2022

Marvin Allen Burgess, age 75 of Crossville passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at his home.  He was born May 14, 1947 in Crossville, Tennessee to the late Allen Burgess and Lillie Mae (King) Burgess

He was the beloved husband of Diane Burgess, the much-loved father of Lisa Wyatt and Derek Burgess of Crossville, the cherished Granddad of Aaron Wyatt, Dusty Russell, Brent Wyatt, Angel’Lea Brown, Corey Walker and Katherine Ferguson, and the wonderful Great-Grandad to Bryson Bo Burgess, Isaac Wyatt, Kinslee Mullins, Brody Wyatt, Avery Wyatt, Kipton Wyatt, Allee Russell and Addison Walker.  He is also survived by twin sister Mamie Cole, Brothers Roger Burgess, Doyle Burgess, Willis Burgess, Aster Burgess and sisters,  Fran Irwin,  Treva McKinney and Darlene Bell.  

He and Diane Burgess married on March 19, 1966.  Together they built an amazing life together in Crossville where he was a carpenter that has built many beautiful homes in this community as well as their beautiful home on his childhood homeplace.  They are members of The Church of God in Crossville and have faithfully served the Lord throughout their lives.  

He farmed his land and kept an amazing garden.  He was quick to share the fruits of his labor with all who visited. Most of all, he loved his Heavenly Father, his wife, his family and his mules.  He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.

His earthly body will be laid to rest in the family cemetery on Allen Burgess Road as he rejoices in heaven.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Visitation will be at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 11am-1pm with a Graveside service to follow at Allen Burgess Cemetery and Thomas Brady officiating.

Joan Diane Sturgill

November 13, 1942 — October 27, 2022

Joan Sturgill, age 79, was born on November 13, 1942 to Homer and Nellie Fowler in Asheville, NC. She passed away on October 27, 2022 at her home in Crossville, TN.

She is survived by her children Vickey Enriquez, JR Sturgill, and Michael J Sturgill; sister Beverly Fowler; grandchildren Tisha, Jessica, Amanda, Paulie, Crystal, Lil Mike, Ollie, and Jennifer; great grandchildren Anthony, Angel, Alexcia, Sarina, Paris, Marques Jr, Haleigh, Kailynn, Ryker, Alexis, Asher, Bella, Brandon, Landon, Bailey, Mason, Madison, Keenan, Braiden, Conner, Colletta, Nalaya, and Liam; along with a very extensive family of sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews; and friends Shirley, Paula, and Deb.

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Derrill Sturgill; parents Homer Harrison Fowler and Nellie (Chandley) Fowler; and sister Margaret Hinson.

A Memorial service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Redemption Church (75 Commercial Drive, Crossville, TN) from 6-8pm.

Deanna Ruth Lambert

Deanna Lambert, age 81, was born on July 3, 1941 to Kalfus and Ruth Doughman in Cincinnati, OH. She passed away on November 4, 2022 at her home in Dayton, TN.

She is survived by her children Jeff, Julie, and Anthony Lambert; grandchildren Kathleen Lambert, Selena Barnett, and Presley Lambert; 2 great grandchildren; and siblings Sandra Kelly, Terry Doughman, and Bill Adams.

She was preceded in death by her parents Kalfus Doughman and Ruth Kathleen (Stone) Doughman; son Troy Lambert; and sister Janis Miller.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10am-12pm with the service to follow at 12pm. Burial will be in Woody Cemetery immediately following the service.

Guy Walter Hardaway

Guy Walter Hardaway, age 54, was born to Sonny and LaVerne Entrekin Hardaway on June 25, 1968 in Fulton Co., GA and passed away on October 30, 2022 in Crossville, TN. He is survived by his wife- Cindy Hardaway, his mother, sons- Sonny Hardaway and Noah Hardaway and other loving family members who will miss him very much.

He was a loving person, an amazing dad, and always looked on the positive side of life. He had a huge effect on many peoples lives. He was funny and outgoing and it was difficult to be around him and not smile. He was a Christian, an extremely hard worker (car sales professional), and a huge Georgia Bulldogs fan.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 12 to 1 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with service to follow.

Janice Caserta

Janice Ilene Caserta, age 63, was born on September 4, 1959 to Lillian Burdick and Robert Czechowicz in Philadelphia, PA. and passed away in Crossville, TN on october 27, 2022. She was a legal secretary and loving mom and sister.

She is survived by her children Jenene Saunders (Nick) and Jacquelyn Losco (Matt); grandchildren- Deanna Caserta, Michael Losco; great grandchild- Phoebe Gibbons; sister – Johann Cybulski and brother Marc Czechowicz.

She is preceded in death by her parents , siblings Gary Burdick and Robyn Noll.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 1-2 at Griffith Funeral Chapel at 520 Chester Pike Norwood, PA. 19074.

Shirley Ann Shenk

Shirley Ann Shenk was born January 9, 1935, in Pinto, Maryland, and went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 17, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of Carl Shenk for 66 years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.

Shirley was a multi-talented woman. She sewed, crocheted and knitted beautifully; she also made the finest quilts including embroidering the Scripture verses on the quilts “For the Children Quilting Ministry” at Central Baptist Church. Shirley and Carl made many wonderful wooden gifts which they stained and she tole painted. She was a custom drapery consultant for years as well as a gifted cook.

Shirley was a positive, loving, welcoming, giving person, and she exuded, “I am so happy to see you!”  Her greatest joy was her personal salvation and daily walk with her Savior.  “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23).  Her life verse was Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Shirley’s next greatest joy was her family, all of whom she loved dearly and prayed for daily.  Shirley and Carl spent many years volunteering for the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program (MMAP) traveling across the country to assist churches, Christian camps and other Christian organizations.  They met and made many friends along their journeys.  Shirley will be missed greatly here on earth, but  we look forward to the day when each of us who has made the choice to accept Jesus as personal Lord and Savior will be reunited with her in Heaven.

Shirley’s passing was preceded in death by her first husband Sanford Martin when she was twenty; by her parents, Wes and Sue Collins; her brother John Collins and his wife Darlene; and her daughter-in-law, Robin Shenk.  She is survived by her devoted husband Carl Shenk; her children Perry Martin Shenk and his wife Blanca; Bryan Martin Shenk and his wife Carolyn; Carla Harle and her husband Bill; her ten grandchildren; nineteen well-beloved great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Sue Yoder and her husband Ted, and Jim Collins and his wife Linda.  

Shirley was an active member of Central Baptist Church.  A Celebration of Life was held Monday, October 24, 2022, at the church.

Jacob McBroom

Steven Jacob McBroom, age 34, was born February 23, 1987 in Crossville, TN and passed away on October 18,2022. He was a cell tower foreman helping to keep us all connected. He was a loving family man and friend.

He is survived by his wife- Tina McBroom, children- Mariah, Mason, Delphia, and Colt; mother- Marcia Clouse West; siblings- Haley Lindsey, Mark Gaddis, Mason Gaddis, Ben Pendleton, and Ashley Pelfrey. he was preceded in death by his dad- Steven McBroom.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, from 11 to 1:00 with service to follow at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Mark Bass will officiate and burial will be in Algood Cemetery.

Bonnie Voncile Silcox

Bonnie Voncile Silcox, age 87, was born on April 16, 1935 to Clara Luticia Brunson and Thomas Jackson Ward in Bluff Springs, FL and passed away on October 7, 2022 in Chattanooga, TN. She was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband- Joseph Emmitt Silcox Jr.; children- Rebekah Louise Bell (Steven), Joseph E. Silcox III (Vangie), Daniel Thomas Silcox, and Lydia Rainell Silcox; grandchildren- Jason Lee Westman (Kristina), Laura Christine Hawks (Michael), Katherine Irene Hill (Christopher), Robert Brian Westman, Paul Laurence Westman, Jennifer Diane Huggins (Christopher), Jonathan Byrant Burgess, Naomi Joy Slavish (Michael), Jared Brand Burgess, Natalie Rose Dorfsmith (Daniel), Jacob Bradley Burgess (Erin), Amy Nicole Silcox, Emili Jo Silcox, and Katie Rose Nutt (Brandon); and twenty-one great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 siblings, daughter- Noella Renee Westman, and grand daughter- Stephanie Bell.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 7 pm.
