James Richard Mallory

James Richard Mallory, age 76, was born to John Oscar and Louise Mary Elmer Mallory in Cincinnati, Ohio and passed away on July 28, 2021 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He served in the 91st Bombardment Wing Strategic Air Command in the Vietnam War as a Sargent in the Air Force. James was a manager with Firestone and owned Jim and Juniors Bait Shop on Peavine Road. He also coached Amateur Athletic Union Basketball for 2 years.

He is survived by his son, Jonathan Mallory (Leslie); grandchildren, Nathan and Nora Mallory; and siblings, Kay Parrish.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Charlene Mallory Korte.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 11 to 1 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services for James will also be held on Thursday following visitation with Joseph Buck officiating. He will be laid to rest in Crossville City Cemetery.

Jerry D. Neal

Jerry D. Neal was born on September 8th, 1948 to Gene and Ava Lee Neal. He passed away at his home on July 27th, 2021. He loved to work hard and was a true Army guy. He had a lot of love in his heart and love for his family. He loved going to casinos and gardening. He will be sadly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward G. Neal; and the love of his life, Gladys P. Neal. He is survived by his step kids and granddaughters.

A celebration of life will be on August 8th, 2021 at Harmony Baptist Church, 1731 Cook Road, Crossville, TN, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Jerry Dewey Rogers

September 16, 1940 – July 25, 2021

Jerry D. Rogers, 80 years old, went home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2021.

God has showered Jerry with miracles during many years of heart issues and hospitalizations. He was a quiet man, but he had God’s spirit in him that he shared with others. His family says that he was unselfish and charitable.

Jerry was a fireman for the city of Miami Beach, Florida for 25 years. He lived in South Florida and loved diving, fishing, and playing tennis. Jerry always had show trucks that he would shine up and drive to various shows around the country. He loved flowers and would work daily in the yard to make it perfect.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda Rogers; son, Robert C.; daughter, Sheryl and her husband Robert Abad; a granddaughter, Jessica Abad; grandson, C.J. Abad and his wife Allison. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Joe Weinflash, and their daughter, Mindy Hertzon.

Dewey Ronald Ward

Dewey R. Ward, age 82, was born on March 11, 1939 to Thomas Jackson and Clara Luticia Brunson Ward in Century, Florida and passed away on July 19, 2021 in Overton County, TN. He retired from the Navy, serving in aviation electronics, and was an avid collector of cars.
He is survived by his children- Donna Warner, Keith Ward, and Nicholas Ward, and a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 siblings. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date and he will be buried in Ray’s Chapel Cemetery.

Wilma Ruth Fassiotto

Wilma Ruth Fassiotto, age 71, was born on June 20, 1950 to Stanley and Vera Pauline Russell Adams in Crossville, TN. She passed away on July 24, 2021.

She is survived by her son, Palmer Thomas Richardson, Jr.; and siblings, Ernest Adams, Gordon Adams, Jerry Adams, Vernon Adams, Lois Jean Brown, and Doris Garrett.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Al Fassiotto.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 5 – 7 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services for Wilma will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 11:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Joe Young officiating. She will be laid to rest in Creston Cemetery.

Mary Ruth Bryant Tucker

Mary Ruth Bryant Tucker, age 87, was born May 22, 1934 to Samuel E. and Bessie Cleo Howard Bryant in Scott’s Gulf, TN and passed away in her home in Crossville, TN on July 20, 2021.

She is survived by her spouse of 70 years- Joseph H. Tucker; daughters- Pam and Dennis Shields of Crossville, Doris Beckett of Nashville, and Donna and Sonny Rose of Crossville; grandchildren- Emily Shields, Parker Shields, Brent Bolin, Chris Bolin, Chelsey Woody, Clint Rose, and Kristie Tucker; seven great grandchildren; siblings- Barbara and Don Lambert, Terry and Regina Bryant, Roger and Pam Bryant, and Jim and Brenda Bryant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters- Margaret Bryant, Alene Adams, and Winnie Ellen Bryant; brother- Robert E. Bryant; son- Bobby Tucker; and son-in-law- Tony Lander.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 7 with a service at 7:00 with Joey Campbell officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 on Saturday, July 24, 2021, in Thomas Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Hospice of Cumberland County.

Flo Ella Long Blevins

Flo Ella Blevins was born November 25, 1929 in Hamblin County, Tennessee to Lawson Robert and Sarah Alice Evans Long. She was one of eight children: James, Horace, Trophine, Stella, Phyllis Ann and two born sleeping (deceased). Her mother passed when Flo Ella was two years old and she was raised by her father. Flo Ella married Herbert L. Blevins at age 21 on November 17, 1951. They were married for nearly 60 years when he passed on January 11, 2011. The happiest years of her life were spent with a family who loved her and Jesus Christ. During her time living in Crossville, she was a member (beginning in 1957) of Homestead Baptist Church. She loved teaching Sunday school class for teenage girls, and loved them all. She worked for Roselawn Southern and later, the Cumberland County School System. Flo Ella (affectionately known as “Nana”) was a blessed woman. She is rejoicing in Heaven with her husband and family members that preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children: Len Blevins (Sue) and Deloris Adams (Denton), grandson, Matthew Adams (Katie), and her great grandchildren, Madelyn and Eleanor Adams.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 19, 2021, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 1 to 3 with service to follow. Delane Sidwell will officiate and burial will be in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Kathleen Marie Gilley

Kathleen Marie Gilley, age 71, was born to Clark and Laura Wilder Gilley on October 3, 1949 in East Moline, Illinois and passed away in Crossville, Tennessee on July 14, 2021. She was a homemaker supporting her husband in his endeavors and enjoyed raising her family.

She is survived by her partner of 30 years, Calvin Miller; daughters, Dawnna Crouch Gillespie (Shaw) and Beth Crouch Boles; grandchildren, Kathleen Miller (Randy), Christopher Capps (Sarah), Dennis Gillespie, Kaysie Capps, Francis McKinney, Laura Capps, and Mikey Boles; and eight great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Jennifer Crouch Woody.

Memorial services for Kathleen will be held at a later date.

Wesley Hiram Rose

Wesley Hiram Rose, age 4, was born on April 13, 2017 to Wayne and Devon Wyatt Rose in Crossville, Tennessee. He passed away on July 11, 2021 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Wesley was one of a kind. Instead of riding his bike, Wesley always pushed it, convinced he was faster at pushing than riding. He loved his trucks and most definitely his (hookers). There was never a dull moment with Wesley around, he was all boy, and he was most definitely a daddy’s boy. His favorite thing was daddy’s truck, and he would always talk about his daddy’s truck he’d have one day. He would always talk about how he was going to mess you up. Blue was his favorite color, and Wesley could brighten a room with just one smile. His laugh was just the best thing to hear. Wesley always wanted to be outside no matter the weather. He always had to have his brother, Joey, outside or watching his favorite show with him. Wesley and his sissy really enjoyed eating their snacks together.

He is survived by his parents, Wayne and Devon Wyatt Rose; his brother, Joey Rose; and his sister, Magnolya Rose.

Funeral services for Wesley will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 7 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Ralph Reagan will be officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 5 to 7.

Mellisa Keyes

Mellisa Keyes, age 49, was born on August 2, 1971 to Kenneth and Mona Petree Keyes in Crossville, Tennessee. She passed away on July 12, 2021 in Knoxville, Tennessee.

She is survived by her parents; children, Jamie (Michael) Seymour and Jimmie Whittaker; grandchildren, Camille, Braxston, Tristan, Braelynn, and Rylin; and siblings, Belinda Autt, Shanda Cornett, and Jackie Brown.

She is preceded in death by her grandson, Hayden.

Family will receive friends on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 12 to 2 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will also be held on Friday following visitation with Bro. Danny Wyatt officiating. She will be laid to rest in Haley’s Grove Cemetery.
