Jean York

Jean York, age 76,  was born on October 25, 1942 in Irvine, KY to Arnold and Inez Lakes Durbin and passed away on January 15, 2019 in Crossville, TN. She worked for Crossville Ceramics. Jean enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and playing cards with the girls.

She is survived by her sister- Dollie Looper; children- Debra Phillips, Teresa Walker, and Gary Phillips; and four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was laid to rest in Crossville City Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Jo Matlock

Jo Matlock, age 61, was born April 21, 1957 in Peru, IN to Claude and Lois Masongale Rogers and passed away in Knoxville, TN on January 31, 2019. She took great pride in being a bartender and she worked for Whitsons for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and was a loving mother, mamaw, and wife.

She is survived by her father- Claude Rogers; husband- Michael Tomlinson; children- Telese Sietsema (Charles), Chella Smith (Jonathan), Matthew Johnson, Krisanda Christie (David), Jennifer Smith (Brien); grandchildren- Sophia, Ethan, Jordan, Kyle, Kaitlin, Wesson, Lakyla, Syler, Anthony, Michael, Sean, Jacob, Madison, Andrea, Danya, and Conner; two great grandchildren; siblings- Eve Kelly, Carolyn Merrill, Ruth Williams, Roger Smith, and Doug Smith.

Jo is preceded in death by her mother- Lois Rogers; and siblings- Blanche Mosley, Ethel Davenport and Charlie Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be held February 7, 2019 at 1:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home.

Robert Arnold Northcutt

A celebration of life service for Robert (Bob) Arnold Northcutt, 84 of Crossville, TN will be held Saturday, 2/22/19 at 10AM at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Warren Burns officiating . Visitation will be Friday, 2/1/19 from 5p-8p.

Bob was born August 13, 1934 McIntosh, Oklahoma to Clyde and Violet Northcutt. He was a loving, gentle and supportive father and brother. He was a member of Trinity Tabernacle in Crossville, TN greater than 30 years with a heart of service. He was very creative and often made his own solutions, such as shooting a rope across a dead tree limb with a crossbow to bring it down. Working at great heights appealed to him. Although he retired as an industrial painter, he never gave up on his passion for working at great heights.

He is survived by his children, Roberta O’Neal and Elmer Sherrill, Robert Northcutt, Robin and Greg Delong, and Reba and Raymond Ball, all of which live in Crossville, TN; stepchildren, Lauren and Brad Houslet, Bend, OR, and Joan and Dan Nelson, Seattle, WA: grandchildren, Scott Wagner, Crossville, TN, Chris and Amy O’Neal, Salt Lake City, UT, Christopher and Agnes Northcutt, Anchorage, AL, Holly Northcutt and Dylan Northcutt, Winchester, TN, Colby Smith, Seattle, WA, Alex Houslet and Gabby Houslet, Bend, OR; sisters, Dorothy Richards, Crossville, TN, Cornelia and Richard Ellis, Hagerstown, IN, and Sammy Marie Groves, Lebanon, MO and a host nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Violet Northcutt, 1st wife and mother of his children Stella Lois Northcutt, 2nd wife Joyce McDonald Northcutt, great grandson Austion O’Neal, and sister Nancy Lee.

Bob was given 2 years to live in August 2018. Jesus had mercy on him , took him home and gave him peace.

Leroy Webb

Leroy Webb, 65, was born on January 14, 1954 to Lawrence Webb and Ruby York Hale in Crossville, TN. He passed away on January 29, 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Webb; son, Chris Webb (Jenny); and grandson, Case.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepdad, Marvin Hale; and siblings, Ronnie Hale and Doris Cox.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 11:00 to 1:00 with services following visitation. He will be laid to rest in Akins Cemetery.

Harriet Marie Miller

Harriet Marie Miller, 94 years old, was born April 19, 1924 to Frank and Belvia Tabor in Crossville, TN. She had three children, Teressa Ann Turner (husband Harold), Nelda Sue Thompson (husband David Thompson), and Frank Lavell Miller (wife Nancy Miller).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Miller, and daughter, Teressa Turner. She has two surviving sisters, Esther Sowder (husband Ray), and Eva Rogers (husband Jim Rogers, deceased).

Harriet has six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

Harriet and her sisters were well known for placing corn shuck and split bottoms in the chairs that their father, Frank Tabor, made.  She was also known for helping take care of others and babysitting.

Funeral services for Harriet will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Garland Limburg and Al Watkins presiding. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 to 1:00. She will be laid to rest in Tolletts Chapel Cemetery.

The family requests that instead of flowers that memorial donations be made to Cumberland House Hospice or Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

Maryana Bonita Phelps

Maryana Bonita Phelps was born on September 11, 1922 and passed away on January 19, 2019.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Phelps; parents, Mabel and Alonzo Beatty; brothers, Bob and “Billy” Beatty, all of Michigan. She is the mother of Nancy Ann Read of Spencer, MI and Nedra Jean Hamner of Tennessee; grandmother to Gerald Harns, of Michigan, Kim Kutchey of Crossville, TN, and Cathy McCampbell of Michigan; great grandmother to Bryan, Cody, and David Kutchey all of Crossville, Ashley, Tommy, Jacquelyn, Gerald Jr., and Emily all of Michigan; great great grandmother to Bryan Gerald David Kutchey, Gabriel, and Charlie Kutchey; and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Philip Charles Shencavitz Jr.

Philip Charles Shencavitz, Jr., age 74, was born on September 30, 1944 in Greenvale, NY to the late Philip and Betty Tooley Shencavitz. He passed away on January 16, 2019. Philip loved going golfing and visiting the Smoky Mountains. He also enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Abrams Shencavitz; children, Dawn Mavromatidis (Harry), Robert Shencavitz (Lori), and Tracy Shencavitz; grandchildren, Marina, Philip Gabriel, Jeremy, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Chelsea, Ally, and Cheyenne; great grandchildren, Maximillion and Bastian; brother, Stanley; sisters, Mary Ann, Linda, Carol, and Patty; and sister-in-law, Betty Ann.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dave.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m at First Presbyterian Church 28 Rock Quarry Road Crossville, TN. Funeral services for Philip will also be held on Saturday following visitation with Andy Aikens officiating.

Faye Thomas

Faye Thomas, age 80, was born on April 19, 1938 to the late Ira and Stella Hall Nealon in Cumberland County, TN. She passed away on January 16, 2019.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie Thomas; granddaughter, Jennifer Eddington (Harold); great grandchildren, Laci and Jaten Eddington; brothers, Clay and Paul Nealon; and sisters, Syble Nichols, Ann Norris, Bobbie Hoskins, and Connie Cox.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.B. Thomas; daughter-in-law, Janet Thomas; brothers, Floyd, Boyd, Dallas, and Ronald Nealon; and sister, Shirley Wilson.

Family will receive friends on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Faye will also be held on Friday following visitation with Joe Cureton officiating. She will be laid to rest in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Cora Campbell

Cora Campbell, age 90, was born on November 29, 1928 in the Big Lick Community of Crossville, TN. She passed away peacefully on January 8, 2019. Cora was the youngest daughter of Lou Davis Burgess and James Harrison Burgess. She attended Cumberland County High School. Cora was married to her husband for 53 years, Albert Edward Campbell. They both started their family and home on Old Mail Road and moved to Dunbar Lane and resided there for 50 years. She was a homemaker who was a devoted wife, mother, sister, neighbor, and friend.  Cora was a member of Crossville Main Street Church of Christ for over 50 years, and she was also affiliated with the Disabled American Veteran’s Auxiliary. She resided at Cumberland Ridge Assisted Living in Crossville, TN for seven years until a fall in 2018 when she was transferred to Bailey’s Manor in Cookeville, TN.

She is survived by her sons, Buster Campbell (Molly) of Crossville, TN, Marvin Campbell (Barbara) of Crossville, TN; Paul Campbell of Cookeville, TN, and Carl Campbell of Columbus, OH; daughter, Wilma Jean Isenberg (Jay) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Amy Campbell, Ivy Campbell Scott, Marci Campbell Varney, Michael Campbell, Will Fitzgerald, Ian Fitzgerald, Jacob Campbell, Lucas Campbell, and C.D. Campbell; great grandson, Carter Varney; and sister, Ethel Moles, age 95, of Dayton, OH.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lou Davis Burgess and James Harrison Burgess; and husband, Albert Edward Campbell.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 13, 2018 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Cora will also be held on Sunday following visitation with Jonathan Loveday officiating. She will be laid to rest in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Carl David Campbell, Will Fitzgerald, Michael Campbell, Ian Fitzgerald, Jacob Campbell, and Lucas Campbell, and honorary pallbearers will be Craig Varney and Jonathan Scott.

Donna Mae Kuypers

Donna Mae Kuypers entered this earth on July 16, 1950 and went to Heaven on December 24, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Donna was the baby of baby of 7 children and was born to Etto and Mabel (Shuckhart) Arnott in Tomahawk, WI. She married the love of her life John Lewis Kuypers on September 1, 2001.

Donna leaves behind her loving husband, John; brothers, Harvey (Bernadette) and Dale Arnott; sister, Kathryn Krueger; sisters-in-law, Joy Humphrey (Dick), Susan Anderson, Janet Root (David), and Carol Kuypers; brother-in-law, Ted Ingman; two special nieces, Tamera Jane Korczyk (Frank) and Theresa Lynn Stanek (Mark); two stepsons, Ryan (Rachel) and their daughters, Vivian and Violet, and Kyle Kuypers; 23 nieces and nephews; and 26 great nieces and nephews.

Waiting in Heaven for Donna are her parents; brothers, Dean (Joan) and Jay (Karen); sister, Vera Ingman; brother-in-law, Donald Krueger; sister-in-law, Karen and niece Laura Arnott; and sister-in-law, Mary Bukacen (Larry).

Donna and John moved from Racine, WI to Crossville, TN in 2011 and to Lake Tansi a few years later. They became involved in golf, LTCA, and LTLC. Donna loved having garage sales as well as going to them. She worked as a hairstylist for 50 years, working the past seven years at FFG Good Samaritan Society. Donna loved people and cutting hair was her greatest asset. She loved to travel and buy beautiful jewelry. Some of her favorite activities were playing softball, tennis, racquetball, watching her lovely flowers bloom every spring, mowing the lawn on her rider, and talking to everyone on the women’s 7th hole tee box.

She leaves behind many dear friends from Wisconsin and all of the wonderful people from our Lake Tansi and Sunset Ridge area in Crossville.

Family will receive friends on Friday, January 18, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Crossville First United Methodist Church with the memorial service for Donna to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s memory to the charity of your choice.
