Ernie Kalmar, 78, of Fairfield Glade, TN passed away on April 23, 2014. Funeral Services were conducted on April 28, 2014 at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home in Flat Rock, Michigan.
Ernie was born on October 30, 1935 in Port Sanilac, Michigan. He was the eleventh child of Paul and Mary Kalmar. Ernie served in the US Army 82nd Airborne from 1952 till 1954. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, almost every sport. He also enjoyed watching almost any sport on TV. After he moved to Fairfield Glade he enjoyed the hiking club and the dance clubs. Most of all he loved his yard. His favorite vacation was cruising.
Ernie and Barbara were married nearly 44 years. He is survived by his wife: Barbara Kalmar; loving father of Charles Bertram, Shelley Nowaczck (Scott), and Kevin Sheridan (Holly); Dearest grandfather of nine; great-grandfather of eight; and great-great grandfather of four. He is also survived by his sister Ethel Lindroth of Cadillac, Michigan; and also many nieces and nephews; host of friends in Fairfield Glade. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Donalyn Loveday, six sisters, and four brothers.
There will be a memorial service for Ernie, May 17, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Christ Lutheran Church in Fairfield Glade. In lieu of flowers please contribute to Christ Lutheran building fund or a charity of your choice.
