Douglas Donald Hargis, 50, of Crossville, TN, passed away on May 20, 2014 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Saturday, May 24 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Tommy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Big Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Lewis, Ricky Dillon, Dusty Phillips, Jesse Wyatt, Travis Hargis, Billy Kirkland, and Dakota Sproul.

Doug was born on June 12, 1963 in Monterey, TN to Billy Claude and Fannie Virginia Lawson Hargis. Doug worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed mechanicing, doing carpentry work, spending time with children, and Nascar racing.

Doug is survived by Dad: Billy Claude Hargis; Mom: Fannie Virginia Lawson Hargis; sons: Cory Hargis, Justin Hargis, and James Hargis; brothers: Barry Hargis (Verlane), Dennis Hargis (Mindy); sisters: Pauline Crawford (Leonard), Brenda Hargis (Curt Phillips), Mary McGaughey, and Donna Dillon (Jerald Dabbs); numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Doug was preceded in death by sister: Shirley Jean Walker.
