Gaither William Stone, 86, of Crossville, TN passed away on August 16, 2014 at Cumberland House. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Bro. Donald Umphrey. Burial will follow at Music Cemetery.

Gaither was born on October 13, 1927 in Crossville, TN to Tom and Jane Stone. He enjoyed going to church, working outside, gardening, bird watching and feeding his birds. Gaither served in the United States Army.

Gaither is survived by his wife of 52 years Betty Stone; daughters: Reba, Sheila, Wanda, Mary, and Margaret; sons: Dallas, William, and Randy; sisters Susie Thomas and Buelah Galliher; brothers: Eurice, Floyd and Oliver. Special daughter-in-law Reba Stone; two special grandchildren: Ashley and Brandon Stone; and many more grandchildren, and great grandchildren; many other family members.  Gaither was preceded in death by: parents: Tom and Jane Stone; children: Lucille, James, and Arlis; sister: Flossy Stone; brothers: Eadger. Sam, and George; granddaughters: Penny Ford, and Tonya Richards.
