April Michelle Raleigh

April Michelle Strevel Raleigh, 37, of Crossville passed away on October 16, 2012 at Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral service will be on Saturday October 20 at Harmony Baptist Church. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. the service will follow at 3 with burial in Crossville City Cemetery. Pastor David Wilkerson will be officiating. Pall bearers will be Jay Bodiford, Jonathan Byler, James McClanahan, Bucky Hatfield, Forrest Hatfield, and Robert Junior Clark.

April was born on March 18, 1975 in Charleston, WV to Edward Eugene and Linda Strevel. She worked in customer service.

She is survived by her mother Linda Hatfield Strevel; Husband Joseph Larry Raleigh; Daughters Kayla R. Spivey, Meagan N. Spivey, and Rebecca M. Raleigh all of Crossville; Brother James McClanahan of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; Sisters Shannon R. Bodiford of Knoxville, TN, and  Mary D. Christianson of Milwalkee, Wisconsin; Nephews Jonathan Byler, Nathan Bodiford, Noah Bodiford, Chris & Scott Christianson; Special Brother-in-law Jay Bodiford; Niece Sara Bodiford; Special Aunts Nola Clark and Brenda Bergwitz;Special Uncle Bucky Hatfield

     April was preceded in death by her father Edward Eugene Strevel; Grandmother Lucille H. Clark, Grandfather Luther Clark, Grandfather Forrest Hatfield,Grandmother Nellie M. Hatfield, Uncle Larry A. Hatfield, Grandfather James Raleigh Strevel, and  Grandmother Nethie F. Wren.

  1. Its been 3 years and at the end of this year it will be 4. So much has happened since then. Sissy had a baby, I got married, had a baby but sadly it didn’t make it. Its been so hard without you. I still remember the phone call, the blurred vision as tears filled my eyes, the numbness, the shock, then it hit. You were really gone. You left me at 17. I’m 20 now. I miss the warmth of the many hugs, your little suprise on my 17th birthday… I miss it. I miss it all. My number was blocked on your old phone because I kept calling hoping to hear your voice from the voicemail. I just can’t let go.
