Nelson William Brown, 80, of Crossville, TN passed away on October 30, 2013 at Cumberland Medical Center. Nelson was born on January 1, 1933 to Richard William and Esther White Brown in Buffalo, NY. He served in the United States Air Force, worked as a Airline Pilot, and enjoyed golfing, flying and loved spending time with his grandchild.
Nelson is survived by wife: Gretchen Houser Brown; son:Eric Nelson Brown (Lisa); granddaughter: Caroline Faith Brown; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents; brother: Charles Brown; sister: Jean Westerberg.
I was a very young pilot only 19 years old and I had the privilege to fly with Nelson. He taught me the most important thing of being an aviator and that’s to be a fun guy to fly with. It goes with out saying that I learned much from “Brownie” and his years of experience but the most important is to enjoy life. I hope to see him again on a distant west bound trip!
