ROBERT THOMAS THURMAN, 89, of Crossville, TN, died November 30, 2013. He graduated from Glidden High School and received a BA in Business from the University of Iowa.  He married the late Betty Lou Thurman in 1950 and they lived in Eastpointe, MI before relocating to Crossville in 1992. Robert served as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Boise, 1941-1945. He was an active member of the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church.

Robert is survived by his son Roger Thurman and partner Cathy Fynes, and daughter Beverly Boling and husband Ross Boling.  He is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Thiede, Zachary Thurman, Clint Boling, Jack Boling, Mario Boling, Alix Thurman and Taylor Nutting and three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Gabrielle, and Averi  Thiede.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
