Clay York Sherrill, 88, of Jamestown, TN passed away on November 24, 2014. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, December 4, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Masters Officiating. Burial will follow in Crossville City Cemetery.
Clay was born on August 24, 1926 in Crossville, TN to Roy Branch and Margaret Tabor Sherrill. Clay served in the United States Army. He enjoyed gardening, going to flea markets, and doing yard work.
Clay is survived by sons: Dennis and Sandy Sherrill, Darrell Sherrill (Lisa Barnes), and Derrick Sherrill; grandchildren: Daniel, Justin, Aaron, Aleisha, and Lillian. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Margaret Tabor Sherrill; wife Fonzie Sherrill; brother and sisters.
Dear Sherrill Family: I am so sorry to have read of our loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28,29 and Revelation 21:4. These verses tell us that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our loved ones as well as do away with all causes we have for suffering, including sicknesss and death. Knowing this has always comforted me and it is my hope that these thoughts comfort your family also.
