Someone very special went home on January 19, 2018 and was welcomed into the arms of his Lord.
Eugene was born to Herman and Mary (Sieker) Stuckmann on February 21, 1935 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1953 and married his high school sweetheart, Gladys Albrecht on May 14, 1955. He farmed the Sieker Family Farm in the Town of Herman until 1976. In 1976, he, Gladys and their four children, left the farm and moved to Howards Grove, Wisconsin. He then drove motorcoach for Royal Coaches. In 1985, he began driving motorcoach for Discovery Coaches of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, retiring in 2001.
Eugene married Rosemary Wittig on June 3, 1999 and in 2003, they retired to the resort community of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, singing in the Fairfield Glade Community Church Choir, and having a glass of wine with his many friends in Fairfield Glade and Wisconsin. He looked forward to his annual visits back to Wisconsin to see his family, and good friends (Ted & Doris Otto, Tom & DianeVanderkin, Wayne & Nancy Dreier, and Fritz Marten).
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, his wife Gladys, and daughter, Naomi Faust.
Eugene is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Rosemary and his three children and their spouses, Dennis (JoAnn) Stuckmann, Elkhart Lake, WI; Lynda (Robert) Cox, Lenox, IA and David (Carrie) Stuckmann, Sheboygan,WI. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Steven Faust, Howards Grove, WI. He so loved his eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Anthony) Helbelink, Michael Stuckmann, Stacey (Oscar) Orellana, Haley and Harrison Stuckmann, all residing in the Sheboygan, WI area; Kristin Burke, Waukesha, WI, Kelly VanDeKreeke of Valpariso, IN, and Travis Huhn of Butler, Wisconsin. Eugene has four great grandchildren, Lexi, Jonathan, Samantha and Erin. He is further survived by his brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Harlan (Laverne) Albrecht of Plymouth,WI and Larry (Patricia) Kujava of Green Bay, WI, and cousins, nieces and nephews. Every year, on his birthday, he knew that he would get a phone call from his cousin Robert (Marilyn) Hammann, wishing him a Happy Birthday!
When he married Rosemary, he added four stepchildren and four grandchildren, all of whom he embraced as his own. Surviving him are Joseph (Laurie) Wittig, Green Bay, WI, who welcomed him into their home, making every Christmas Holiday so special; Robert Wittig, Crivitz; WI, Daniel (Susan) Wittig, Nashville, TN, and Jeanne Wittig, Mansfield,TX. Grandpa in Tennessee was very special to KimberlieWittig, Oklahoma City, OK; Courtney Wittig, Green Bay; WI, and Lauren and MilesWittig, Nashville, TN.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, Crossville, TN is in charge of cremation and there will be no viewing.
Eugene will be buried at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum, Town of Sheboygan, Wisconsin and Immanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery, across from his Sieker Family Farm in the Town of Herman, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. A private internment in Wisconsin and a memorial service at Fairfield Glade Community Church in Fairfield Glade will celebrate Eugene’s life and the dates will be announced at a future time.
