Dorothy Holland Phillips

Dorothy Holland Phillips, 83 passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012, at the Life Care Center of Crossville.

 She was born March 21, 1929, in Americus,Georgia.  Dorothy was a devoted loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She was also a devoted Christian and member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Crossville.

Her passion included traveling the country side with Richard in their 5th wheel camper. She loved anything to do with the outdoors and nature.  She made sure her children were taught the love and respect of the outdoors.  She had a love for sewing, quilting and all crafts.  Her love and devotion was always to serve others, especially all children which this love brought her involvement and a leadership role in SDA Pathfinders for many years.  In her later years she and Richard found a new love for Square Dancing.  They went to many state wide dances and competitions.  She was known to live life to the fullest and was always ready for the next adventure.

She is survived by her sister, Louise Dertod of Longwood, Florida, her 3 children, Rick Holland (Lydia), of Longwood, Florida ,Mike Holland (Gloria), of Lake Mary, Florida and Tracy Cook (Danny) of Havana, Florida, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, her brother in-law Ron Phillips (Lena) of Crossville, Tn. and her sister in-law Diane Campbell of Mascotte,  Florida

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard A. Phillips, her mother, Nona Moore, her father, Ennis Moore and her brother, Earl Moore.

 An intimate grave side service will be held for family and close church family members on July 7, 2012 at 3:30pm at Meister Hill Cemetery, Deer Lodge,Tennessee with Elder Chuck Case officiating the interment.
