Vinston Threet

Vinston Threet, 80, of Crossville passed away at his home on December 26, 2012. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with a Masonic Prayer at 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with burial in Slate Springs Cemetery.  Bishop Jerry Hassler will be officiating. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Vinston’s name to Alzheimer’s Association. Pallbearers will be Andy Patton, Ben Reed, Kenny Threet, Mark Threet, Eugene Adams, and Doug Randall.

He was born on July 10, 1932 to William Harrison and Mary Jane Winningham Threet in Wilder, TN. He served in the United States Army. Worked as a carpenter, enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to church, spending time with family and friends. His hobby was breeding and raising dogs.

Vinston is survived by his wife Frances Threet; sons Darrell Glenn Threet, and William Toy Threet (Carol); Grandchildren Andrew Lee Patton (Kelly), Kayla Threet, and Kelsey Threet; great grandchildren Alyssa Frances Patton, Taylor Leigh Patton, Jake O’Brien, and Kayla Ann O’Brien; Brother Walter Threet; numerous other family members and friends.

Preceded In Death By: Parents; brothers Benton, Clinton, and Denton Threet; sister Christine Emory; step son Morris Albert Patton.
